Set of 2 Mid-Century Bitossi Art Pottery Vases with Vetrata and Faux-Bois Decor

Set of 2 Original Fratelli Fanciullacci Textured Ceramic Pottery Vases c.1960s, attributed to Alvino Bagni for Bitossi*

The vases feature a semi-gloss Faux-Bois; brutalist-like rough unglazed textured bottom with deep vertical grooves, and a glossy glazed top with thickly applied drip glaze arranged in colourful vetrata decor; square patches of yellow, pink, orange, red, green and shades of blue separated with raised white lines.

One vase is signed and the other is incised "Italy" on the base.

*Bitossi acquired Fratelli Fanciullacci after the war and allowed the family to continue making their own wares with not much interference until the family company closed in 1988.
